I am so blessed to do such a fun job. And I was super excited to shoot the “D” family last week. We had gorgeous weather. And the leaves are turning and we were able to capture some fun moments for them.
I love this family shot.

These 3 boys are adorable. I think my girl could marry me one of their boys.

Happy 12 years!!

Thank you for spending an afternoon with me in front of my camera!!

October 31, 2011I’m not a Chef: Keeping it Real
October 27, 2011This past Summer I learned I had some food allergies… and it has changed the way I eat. If you are friends with me on Facebook, or you follow my photography page there you have seen a few different comments about gluten free and other allergy free recipes. It has been a challenge. But what’s life without a few glitches here and there? Just for a list of what I am now free of.
Corn
Legumes (this includes all beans, hello soy!!!, peas, and peans)
All Nuts
Gluten and Oats
Melons, including watermelon which is what spurred all of this on.
The reason I even went down this road is I went into anaphylactic shock from watermelon in June. And then I had several other severe retains that caused me to have breathing problems. So here we are. It’s October and I eat lots of rice, potatoes, veggies, fruits, and more rice. It’s healthy, I feel amazing and it really is okay. But if you know me I have a killer sweet tooth. And since finding all of this out it has been severely squashed. It’s not a bad thing. Sugar was my crack. I even ate Raw Sugar when I wanted a fix. (Which was really good!) Now I am no longer an addict. It’s freeing, what can I say. But I miss having a treat occasionally. And I think my kids and my husband miss my baking. Not that it was frequent or great, but at least I did it sometimes. Although I am pretty sure Randy doesn’t miss the mess that would happen when I did bake. I tend to make it look like a bomb went off. And I am rambling…
Back to the point. I really, really, really, really have wanted just a good cake. Something yummy I can eat. And this week I decided I NEEDED pumpkin cake. I found a recipe and it was for a bundt cake. I didn’t have a bundt cake pan and I had never made a bundt cake so I went to Target (my happy place) and bought a pan. Not the $26 one because if I really didn’t like it I would have a pan that I would probably never use again. But a nice $16 non-stick pan.
And then today my Mom ground up some rice in her VitaMix for me so I could have super duper finely ground rice flour, and I added it to potato starch and tapioca flour, and I made my gluten free flour mix. If you want my mix let me know. And then I mixed up my cake hoping it was going to rock my world when it was done. I have made other things and they all left me wishing for something more. The Pumpkin-Applesauce Bundt Cake took 80 minutes to bake. It said 60, it took my oven 80. And it made my house smell delicious.
I texted my trainer who is trying to whip my butt into shape and told her I was going to eat cake. I hurt my knee so I can’t run, but I can eat cake and taunt her. I’m nice like that. She said one piece but no Halloween candy. HAHAHAHA! I can’t eat the candy anyway, so that was easy.
I whipped up some frosting, a cream cheese maple frosting. And then I ate a piece. And let me tell you. It was amazing. So amazing that you should make it. Even if you aren’t gluten free. I think it is the best dessert to date that I have made that is gluten free. It might even be better than any cake I have ever made in my life.

October 20, 2011Growing up my family would travel to the little town of Union, Oregon to go visit my Grandparents. While visiting Union, Oregon I would get to visit with cousins. And it was always super exciting and fun. But we all grew up, and over time we didn’t see each other.
This is where Sara comes into the picture. When we were little we would play at the park. And I always looked forward to seeing her and her sisters. Especially since I had so many brothers. Last year we both moved to the same-ish area and finally we were able to meet up for her family pictures.
Meet Sara and Jared and their adorable boys.
I had so much fun on this shoot. Sara and Jared wanted real pictures of their family. The kids being kids. And of their family being them.
These adorable boys are so fun. They made me giggle and kept me moving. I loved every minute of it.

Sara and Jared, you two are adorable together.

Thank you for hanging out with me and letting me capture your adorable family!

October 12, 2011A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend a good chunk of my day with Jackie. I am wondering why I haven’t done this more often in my life. It was totally rad. One of these days I am going to go on a shopping trip with her.. she just doesn’t know it yet. I love her style and I am convinced we would have a great time.
Jackie celebrated her birthday yesterday! Happy Birthday Jackie!! And since she was having a birthday she decided to have a shoot of her and her fabulousness.
Check out Jackie!
I love how cool and collected she is, she just oozes confidence.
We had to hit a wine bar. She knows her wine. Not me, I am clueless.
I absolutely adore her boots, heck her whole outfit. She can rock it especially with her legs!

Thanks Jackie for spending your day hanging out with me. And for letting me capture YOU!
Bri: Tri-Cities, Washington Senior Photographer
October 11, 2011This is my final Senior of the year for the class of 2012. And it was such a fun shoot!
Meet Bri! Bri had her hair and makeup done at Eden Salon and Day Spa. They do a fabulous job, on keeping the girls looking natural and enhancing their natural beauty.
Bri is a Senior at Kamiakin, and she is an amazing girl. She has many wonderful talents and I was thrilled that she brought her banjo! I mean how cool is a banjo!! And she even played it a little bit for me!
Bri you are stunning. I hope you see how truly beautiful you really are.
Bri has the cutest dog. We stopped by her house and I had to get a picture of the two of them together.
Bri’s a tall girl like me. That makes her extra cool.

I love this series of Bri.
Bri has an awesome future planned. She wants to be a doctor, and I am sure she will do it.

Bri, I loved hanging out and shooting you. You are such a fabulous girl and I am so excited for your future! Thanks for letting me capture you!

Jose has the cutest smile!
He’s really good at soccer.
He has a great serious face.

Matt+Laurel: Tri-Cities, Washington Wedding Photographer
October 6, 2011I posted a few sneak peeks of Matt+Laurel the day I shot their wedding a couple of weeks ago. But tonight I am blogging their wedding.
They were married in the Richland Lutheran Church. It was my first time shooting there, and I loved the architecture.
Laurel is simply stunning. She had the most beautiful dress also.
I love watching a father walk his daughter down the aisle. It is one of my most favorite parts of the day.

The reception hall was decorated beautifully. And I loved the colors that they had. Purple and orange are beautiful together.
We snuck away after the ceremony for a few shots of the two of them.

The details were beautiful.

I love first dances. And watching these two you could feel the love.

Congratulations Matt+Laurel. I am so excited for your life together. Thank you for letting me capture your special day.
I am so excited to blog this session.
Ashlea had her hair and make up done at Eden Crest Day Spa in Richland. I highly recommend having your hair and makeup done if you are having your senior pictures, or any pictures done. I have packages that include it, if you are interested in it let me know. And Ashlea looked amazing! She is such a natural beauty anyway.
Ashlea loves red just as much as I do. And she looks amazing in red!

Thank you Ashlea for spending the afternoon with me. It was fun to capture you and help you remember your senior year!!
